Job Title
CSN Charleston Campus Senator
CompensationHourly Rate: $12.95

- Serve on at least 1 ASCSN Standing Committee and 2 ASCSN Ad-hoc Committees.
- Approve By-Law legislation proposed by the ASCSN By-law and Constitution Committee with a two-thirds (2/3) simple majority vote of the entire ASCSN Senate.
- Pass financial funding items with a simple majority vote in a scheduled ASCSN Senate meeting.
- Override a presidential veto with a two-thirds (2/3) supermajority vote of the ASCSN Senate.
- Work at least 12 hours (over and above committee meetings) each week assisting students on the campus they represent while classes are in session.
- Assist during events held by ASCSN up to one-third (1/3) of weekly hours.
- Deliver a brief presentation in one class each month on the ASCSN Student Government; presentations must be scheduled by the class instructor and cannot be delivered to classes previously visited or currently enrolled by the senator.
- Dedicate 2 working hours each week to promote ASCSN Student Government and events, subject to approval from an ASCSN Executive Board member.
- Work the remainder of weekly hours on committee assignments.
- Ensure timely submission of any required documentation, including a statement of interests and proof of enrollment of a minimum of six credits on the campus represented.
- Maintain compliance with all ASCSN By-Law Article V and college conduct codes; noncompliance may result in removal from office.
Participate in the following scheduled trainings:
- June 23–26, 2026: 9 AM-5 PM
- July 7–10, 2026: 9 AM-5 PM
- August 11–14, 2026: 9 AM-5 PM
- January 6–7, 2026: 9 AM-5 PM (Spring All elected student leader trainings – in person)
- Enrollment in at least six (6) credits at the campus represented.
- U.S. citizen or alien authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.
Criminal background check may be required for selected candidates.
Schedules are subject to change based on organizational needs.
