Summary
Full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Graphic Design and Interactive Media Instructor in the Department of Art, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, starting August 15, 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in graphic design, digital arts, and interactive media.
- Perform other teaching or administrative duties as assigned, including participating in the Foundation Portfolio Review Process.
- Teach courses in multiple modalities; be able to teach online or be willing to teach online.
- Oversee the maintenance and organization of the graphic design studio spaces and classrooms.
- Engage with faculty to ensure efficient organization of courses and coursework consistent with professional standards; develop courses and curriculum.
- Serve as a student advisor; all advisors receive training as part of professional development.
- Support students in their academic endeavors.
- Serve on graduate student committees and other committees as appropriate.
- Participate in a variety of opportunities within the department, college, and university community, including mentoring students where required.
- Engage in formal and informal processes of departmental assessment of student learning and programming.
- Attend department and college meetings as required and engage in activities of the department.
- Engage in professional development to stay current and academically prepared in the field.
- Perform other teaching or administrative duties as appropriate depending on departmental needs.
- Master’s of Fine Arts in Digital Arts with a focus on Graphic Design and Interactive Media.
- Mastery of the Adobe Suite and related software.
- A record of, or potential for, active professional practice.
- Fluency in the practice and teaching of design and the ability to integrate contemporary creative concepts into the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
- Ability to work effectively using online platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
- Two or more years of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated dedication to supporting student success.
- Ability to commit to the creative development of others and help them recognize and expand upon their talents.
- Ability to collaborate with peers in a diverse environment.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing higher education environment.
AFT Salary Grade 22—$64,760.85 to $. Comprehensive benefits package includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
