Salary:
Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-17, salary will be based on the County Board of Education Salary Table in which the facility is located, commensurate with educational level and years of experience.
Job Summary:
Provide instruction to ensure that students meet learning objectives and standards for the appropriate content.
- 1. Implement Mason County Schools approved program of study
- 2. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- 3. Utilize instructional techniques and methods which increase student learning.
- 4. Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives.
- 5. Promote and maintain positive student-teacher lines of communication.
- 6. Meet professional responsibilities.
- 7. Comply with the host agency's policies and procedures.
- 8. Work cooperatively with the host agency's staff to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- 9. Maintain and improve professional skills.
- 10. Maintain proper organization of equipment and classroom materials utilizing inventory methods.
- 11. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
- 12. Attend trainings as required to be properly endorsed to teach in the subject area.
Required:
- 2. Qualifies for or holds West Virginia Career and Technical Education Licensure, as required under State Board of Education Policy 5202 to teach Commercial Driving.
- 3. Wage-Earning Experience – HS diploma with three years of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested; OR
- 4. Associate degree â— Hold an associate degree in an area related to the specialization and complete two years of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which the licensure is requested; OR
- 5. Bachelor's degree â— Hold a bachelor's degree in an area related to the specialization and complete one year of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which the licensure is requested.
- 6. Candidate must pass Basic Skills (CBEST reading, writing, mathematics) and attend the required CTE teacher training program as prescribed by the West Virginia Department of Education.
- 7. Candidate must attend trainings for each area expected to teach.
