Electrical Engineer

Our client is a leading medical device organization looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a front-end R&D team focused on the development of energy-based surgical instruments. This role will support early-stage product development and new feature design for handheld medical devices used in surgical applications. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to hands-on design, testing, and documentation activities.

• Support front-end electrical design and development for energy-based handheld medical devices, including concept development, feasibility, and early prototyping
• Design, execute, and document electrical test procedures, including writing protocols, performing testing, analyzing results, and authoring engineering reports
• Generate technical documentation to support engineering studies, theory of operation, and design decisions
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and root cause investigations during development and testing activities
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, biomechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate electrical features into complete device systems
• Participate in bench testing and lab-based evaluations, including hands-on testing of devices in tissue lab environments
• Support design reviews, technical reviews, and cross-functional engineering discussions
• Translate product and system requirements into electrical designs while evaluating technical trade-offs
• Contribute to PCBA design activities, including schematic development, simulation, prototyping, and troubleshooting
