Job Overview
Controls Engineer responsible for maintenance, improvement, and optimization of control systems, including machine, robot, vision systems, and measurement programs. Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and training. Works beyond standard hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and resolve complex programming, software, and integration issues across PLC-based control systems and automation equipment.
- Debug, optimize, and implement process improvements for automated assembly and manufacturing line controls.
- Design, develop, and optimize control concepts, logic, and architectures for automated equipment, machines, and production systems.
- Troubleshoot, modify, and maintain robot‑to‑PLC interface programs.
- Maintain and improve vision inspection and measurement systems.
- Provide advanced technical support to maintenance teams.
- Deliver hands‑on training and guidance to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate control system documentation, electrical prints, software backups, and version control.
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies.
- Execute special projects, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in PLC programming languages and industrial control standards.
- Support production needs with flexible scheduling such as on‑call responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Siemens PLC programming.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial control systems, automation, robotics, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in PLC programming languages and industrial control standards.
- Good verbal and written language skills.
- College‑level technical math skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn additional software.
- Interpersonal communication skills with coworkers.
Work in a manufacturing assembly environment. Requires standing/walking for up to 4 hours, repetitive bending, twisting, grasping, and lifting up to 45 lbs.
