Cycle Reverse Logistics is looking for a talented, driven, and highly organized Automation Design Engineer to support Reverse Logistics programs. The Automation Design Engineer will oversee strategic programs and initiatives, working with internal customers and third‑party design houses, and closely with onsite process engineers to develop and expand automation across multiple platforms.
The goal is to complete associated projects on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder objectives. This includes partnering with technical teams to scope deliverables, perform data analysis, create robust business requirements documents (BRD), develop KPI metrics, and develop monthly business reviews that drive progress on project goals. The role requires understanding operational processes, program objectives/SLAs, and customer centricity to drive adoption and expansion.
As a Design Engineer, you will identify clear paths through roadblocks, provide escalation management, anticipate trade‑offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You will manage large, complex programs and break them into manageable components, develop functional and technical user stories, and deliver them successfully and on time.
Key Job Responsibilities• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously; develop business requirements documents (BRD) and comprehensive project plans, including timelines and resource efficiency measurements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, including Technical Engineering, Operations, Commercials, Customer, and Finance leadership; regularly communicate project status, milestones, and risks, and address concerns in a timely manner.
• Coordinate global monthly business reviews with associated metrics and narrative; write documents and presentations to influence business actions beneficial to program adoption and expansion.
• Partner with reporting teams to develop new reporting and metrics to monitor efficiencies and SLA commitments.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment into mass production.
- Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- 5+ years of Automation Design Engineering experience, using data and metrics to drive improvements, owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
- Experience using one or more of the following technologies (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Solid Works, CREO, Sketch Up, Key Shot) to deliver high quality models and designs.
