Position OverviewDavey Resource Group, Inc., is seeking experienced environmental consulting professionals to join our growing Cincinnati team. We are seeking teamwork-oriented individuals with excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates should possess a professional work ethic with attention to detail and safety.
Job DutiesSelected candidates will work collaboratively with Davey Resource Group project developers, biologists, and project managers. The position involves a variety of work including water resources delineation, Section 401/404 permitting, stream/wetland restoration design, construction oversight, technical report writing, and management of a variety of projects that include environmental planning, permitting, monitoring, construction, and ecosystem restoration.
The primary focus of this position is to not only provide senior level project management and expertise, but also perform a key role in the development of new projects, including the preparation of proposals, grant writing, networking and identifying new client relationships and project opportunities. This may include attending conferences/workshops and public speaking.
Types of work including, but not limited to:
- Wetlands Delineation
- Endangered and Threatened Species Studies
- Wetlands Mitigation Monitoring and Site Assessments
- Stream Restoration Monitoring
- Other environmentally related studies, as required
- Participating in industry organizations
- Inter‑department coordination and communication
Education and
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a four‑year degree in biology, ecology, conservation, environmental science, or related fields.
- 5–7 years of experience working in the natural resources field performing ecological consulting work.
- Familiarity with stream restoration or Natural Channel Design practices.
- Understanding of state laws and environmental regulations.
- Excellent writing and critical thinking skills.
- Strong botanical identification skills.
- Ability to travel regionally.
- Valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
Strong knowledge of/experience in one or more of the following fields desired:
- Plant identification (including trees/shrubs)
- Soils
Also required:
- General natural history knowledge/interest.
- Willingness to travel regionally.
