Overview
ENERCON’s Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a 3D Mechanical Designer to join the Team! Join our dynamic engineering team as an experienced designer/drafter and elevate your career by creating and refining detailed drawings, conducting site walkdowns, and collaborating closely with engineers. You'll utilize advanced tools like REVIT, adhere to strict quality and safety standards, and mentor junior team members, all while working on diverse and exciting projects.

As a 3D Mechanical Designer, your day is a dynamic blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision, where you bring designs to life using AutoCAD, REVIT, and cutting‑edge BIM tools. Collaborating with engineers and mentoring junior team members, you ensure every project runs smoothly, from detailed drafting to site walkdowns, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
- Design & Drafting:
Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT. Prepare design drawings including layout, detail drawings, piping isometrics, P&, and physical design of piping and HVAC with supports. - Engineering
Collaboration:
Work with Mechanical Engineers to size and design piping, pumps, equipment for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls. Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation. - 3D Modeling & BIM:
Experienced with 3D space and BIM. Perform internal reviews and clash detection using NAVISWORK or REVIT. Create and modify REVIT families and incorporate them into design. - Field Work:
Perform walk‑downs at client sites and generate walk‑down reports. - Quality & Standards:
Conduct self‑checks of drawings, sketches, and data to identify factors that may negatively affect the final product. Understand AutoCAD national standards and perform peer checks for other designers. - Leadership & Mentorship:
May review work of other designers/drafters, provide mentoring and leadership, and meet applied time goals set for the position/discipline. - Communication & Organization:
Communicate internally with engineers and designers; be highly organized. Follow all organizational and client procedures, safety policies, and directives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience OR Associate’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience OR minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software;
AutoCAD and Revit required; NAVISWORKS, Inventor, Creo, and Bluebeam recommended. - Working knowledge of engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned discipline; competent in basic concepts of other disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design.
- Ability to travel 10‑15% of the time; duration may vary depending on project and client needs.
USD $68,800.00 – USD $ per year.
Additional InformationSome positions may be performed remotely in one or more U.S. states. Compensation is aligned with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects expected compensation at the time of posting. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon passing pre‑employment and random drug/alcohol screenings, background checks, and annual motor vehicle record reviews per company and client policies.
