Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Safety Specialist to join our team! In this role under the direction of the project safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) manager, you will assist a project or program manager in ensuring that the site-specific SH&E plans, workplaces, and operational tasks being conducted conform to Parsons’ risk management practices.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Assists the SH&E Manager with administering the SH&E programs.
Supports the SH&E Manager with audits the project or program and its worksites against corporate standards.
Performs inspections to assess hazards; provides expertise to project personnel to eliminate/control the SH&E risks associated with exposure to the hazards.
Creates and submits written inspection reports.
Monitors project or program work planning and performance; verifies planning and work performance conforms to Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system.
Implements Parsons’ occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
Creates and maintains SH&E training records.
Participates in routine safe work briefings.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (or equivalent experience)
2-5 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety
Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft and Excel
10 or 30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

An ASP or GSP
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER
Construction Experience
Familiar with Pro Core

Salary Range:

$30.58 - $53.51
