Rides horseback during the mornings and evening hours to ensure safety for everyone involved on the track

• Catches loose horses by horseback
• Assist in handling injured horses
• Provide care for ponies
• Approve all exercise riders, jockey and pony riders
• Clean horses, horse’s shoes and feet
• Distribute hay and straw bales to stables
• Communicate with racing stewards
• Other duties as assigned by management

• Must be an excellent horseback rider
• 5 or more years experience working with horses as well as horse racing
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to obtain KHRC license

• Must be able to, stand, sit, reach, speak, hear, see, color vision, depth perception, ride horses, lift up to 75lbs., carry up to 75lbs., climb, stoop, kneel, crouch,
