Looking for meaningful work in a tight‑knit, family‑centered community? Vernon Family Funeral Homes is seeking a licensed Funeral Director (or Apprentice) to join our dedicated team serving Champaign, Miami, and surrounding counties with compassion and excellence.

Funeral Director/Embalmer (Apprentice or Licensed)

Location: Champaign and Miami County, Ohio

Job Type: Full‑time

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and personalized funeral arrangements and cremation services
  • Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, from first contact to post‑service follow‑up
  • Perform embalming and preparation of deceased individuals with professionalism and care
  • Collaborate with families to create meaningful, memorable ceremonies
  • Manage logistics, including transportation, legal documentation, and compliance
  • Maintain a supportive, team‑oriented work environment
Requirements
  • Valid Funeral Director License in the State of Ohio (or Apprentice License)
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate demeanor and ability to support grieving families
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $40,000 to $95,000 per year, with opportunities for advancement within our family‑owned organization.
