Supply Chain Mgr II, AWS Cloud Logistics

Job :  | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services is the backbone of Amazon's cloud computing operations, responsible for every aspect of AWS's global infrastructure — from design and planning to delivery and operations. Our team ensures millions of customers have uninterrupted access to AWS services by managing data centers worldwide, including all servers, storage systems, networks, and critical facility infrastructure. We tackle complex supply chain challenges at an unprecedented scale, optimizing thousands of variables to keep the cloud running smoothly.

We're seeking innovative problem‑solvers ready to help shape the future of global cloud infrastructure.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers — all within an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The AWS Cloud Logistics team is seeking an experienced Supply Chain professional to join our Florence, KY location. In this role, you'll take ownership of transportation operations for one of the world's fastest‑growing industries, driving continuous improvement and leading day‑to‑day operational execution with limited oversight. This is a hands‑on operations role where no two days look the same — you'll regularly navigate ambiguous situations, make sound judgment calls, and find practical solutions without always having a defined playbook to follow.

The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment. You operate with autonomy, own your segment of the business end‑to‑end, and know when to escalade versus when to act. You're comfortable working through uncertainty, building structure where it doesn't exist, and keeping operations running smoothly even when the path forward isn't always clear.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own and manage day‑to‑day transportation operations for an assigned segment, including SOP development and ongoing process improvement
  • Navigate ambiguous operational situations with sound judgment, escalating risks and roadblocks proactively while providing recommended solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring transportation defects and inefficiencies
  • Own performance metrics and dashboards; present findings in regular business reviews with Logistics Service Providers and senior leadership
  • Program manage standard customer requirements and operational initiatives, maintaining a consistent focus on best‑in‑class service
  • Identify and act on process improvement opportunities to optimize overall operational effectiveness and achieve performance targets
  • Collaborate across Supply Chain teams to develop and implement standardized solutions with limited oversight
  • Mentor and peer coach team members; serve as a point of escalation and support for newly hired employees
  • Actively engage in hiring activities and contribute to document reviews with senior leadership audiences
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with Business Partners and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience
  • 3+ years of working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of driving end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
