About the job – Regional HSE Leader, Americas
We have partnered with a global leader in industrial manufacturing to support their Health, Safety and Environment program across North and South America, covering operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. The Regional HSE Leader will support the company-wide transformation agenda by delivering a step-change in safety performance, strengthening operational risk management, and embedding a proactive, behavioural safety culture throughout the organisation.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering and business leaders, you will lead the continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental performance, ensuring consistent standards, robust governance and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- HSE Strategy: Define and execute the Group HSE strategy, driving measurable improvements in safety performance across the region.
- Safety Culture: Embed a proactive safety culture through behavioural safety programmes, leadership engagement and workforce accountability.
- Development & Implementation of HSE processes: Lead process safety, risk management, incident investigation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Governance: Develop and oversee HSE governance, management systems, performance reporting and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Working with external parties: Drive contractor safety, environmental management and HSE assurance for projects, operational change and M&A activities.
- Developing high-performing teams: Build organisational HSE capability and lead a high-performing regional HSE team to deliver consistent standards and best practice.
- Minimum 7 years of experience leading HSE Operations and Transformations.
- Proven senior HSE leadership experience within a complex, multi‑site industrial, manufacturing, chemicals, energy or process‑driven environment.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing HSE strategies, safety transformation programmes and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Strong expertise in process safety, operational risk management, incident investigation and regulatory compliance.
- Experience designing and managing HSE management systems, performance frameworks, KPIs and governance processes.
- In‑depth knowledge of environmental management, contractor safety and control‑of‑work systems.
- Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive cultural change across diverse teams.
- Experience supporting capital projects, operational change and M&A activities from an HSE perspective.
- Relevant degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Professional HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CRSP, CIH or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with executives, regulators and frontline teams.
