Responsibilities- Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.
- Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.
- Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.
- Will at times directly supervise / manages others.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Cover for the supervisor in his/her absence.
- Startup machines and monitor quality at start up.
- Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.
- Respond to Quality Assurance Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.
- Oversee proper packaging procedures.
- Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.
- Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Operator 1 problems.
- Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.
- Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.
- Ability to effectively perform the Operator 1 job to assist with relief breaks.
- Assist with Material Handling as needed.
- Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc.).
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
- Various other duties as assigned.
