SPX Technologies seeks experienced industrial painters, sandblasters, and general laborers to support our paint line on 1st and 2nd shift. We offer competitive pay based on experience.
Job SummaryAs a member of the Paint team, you will ensure all parts are free from defects and properly painted or powder coated. Your role supports the production of durable, energy‑efficient industrial cooling solutions.
Responsibilities1. Safety
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core values.
- Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
- Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.
- Ensure proper operation of the finishing system so parts are defect‑free.
- Monitor own work quality; immediately report defective material or unusual conditions.
- Perform light maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Read work orders to select correct part numbers and colors.
- Document work performed for production records.
- Use grinders to remove scratches, excess weld material, and burrs.
- Operate sandblasting machine to clean surfaces prior to painting or coating.
- Coordinate staging and sequencing of hanging parts on the overhead conveyor system.
- Operate spray painting guns and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Unload parts, items, and product components.
- Desire to do the right thing.
- Team player; assist other team members and departments as needed.
- Be punctual, on time, and ready to work every day.
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with sandblasting, industrial paint, or similar operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Can follow instructions and work both independently and in a team.
- Safety oriented.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lifting to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, and working at heights.
- Perform repetitive motions.
- Plant environment with potential exposure to harsh weather, excessive heat/cold, and/or excessive noise.
