About the role

Bright Machines is on a mission to transform how electronics are made—bringing intelligence, scalability, and flexibility to the factory floor. We combine the best of automation, machine learning, and software to modernize manufacturing from the ground up. We are looking for a Material Handler to join our team.

A Material Handler at Bright Machines plays a key role in supporting our automated server assembly and rack-testing operations. In this position, you will move materials throughout the assembly safely, efficiently, and accurately, ensuring production lines stay supplied and inventory stays organized and traceable. Your work helps keep operations running smoothly and supports our commitment to delivering reliable, software-defined, robotics-enabled manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver materials to manufacturing and test areas in support of daily production schedules.
  • Execute physical and system-based material movements—including staging, replenishment, transfers, and returns, using RF scanners and ERP/MES tools.
  • Move materials to non-production areas such as shipping, parts prep, engineering, or office zones.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, lifts) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain stockroom organization, including accurate bin management and FIFO compliance.
  • Return unused components from production to the stockroom and update system records accordingly.
  • Dispose of scrap or non-conforming components following Bright Machines’ quality and EHS guidelines.
  • Pull materials for purges, engineering change orders, or controlled manufacturing runs.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation tasks to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
  • Verify paperwork and system transactions to ensure physical material movement aligns with ERP data.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on material flow, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support operations.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, auditors, or cross-functional partners.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities—capable of collecting data, identifying issues, and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Comfortable using computers, Windows-based applications, and inventory tools (ERP/MES experience preferred).
  • Strong PC skills required; experience with Bright Machines’ systems or similar environments is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, visual aids, and basic documentation.
  • Able to follow standardized procedures consistently with minimal variability.
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages).
  • Ability to interpret charts, graphs, and simple reporting data.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and process discipline.
