We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate manual milling machines to produce precision components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will ensure that parts are machined accurately, efficiently, and safely, contributing to the overall quality and success of our production processes. Must be able to but key ways and set up bolt circle
- Set up and operate manual milling machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration before machining begins
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and CAD/CAM files to produce precise parts
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions during and after machining
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job, adjusting feeds and speeds based on material type and machining requirements
- Perform routine maintenance on milling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review drawings and provide feedback on manufacturability or potential improvements
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and CAD models
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding techniques
- Experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines is a plus but not mandatory for manual operation roles
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming, and CNC lathe operation enhances versatility but is not essential
- Ability to work safely with forklifts and other industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
- Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail ensures high-quality output in fast-paced settings
