Team Leader Production – 2nd ShiftManual Labor – Archbold, OH, US
General SummaryAssists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates.
Effectively trains production associates.
Assists supervisor in managing production activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates, assuring good quality parts are produced safely and efficiently. (35%)
- Effectively trains production associates and ensures proper completion of training records. (25%)
- Assists supervisor in managing production activities for employees such as pullboard updates, paperwork, TS audits, cost savings, and operator instructions. (20%)
- Performs process audits on assigned employees to ensure all processes, procedures, and work instructions are followed. (10%)
- Performs quality checks on production operations to ensure they meet quality specifications such as gauging and SOP checks, notifying supervisor of any issues. (5%)
- Assists quality in completing corrective action reports for external and internal quality concerns. (5%)
Education and/or Experience
- Trained and qualified on production jobs in assigned area.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of and full qualification on all production processes in assigned area(s).
- Thorough understanding of Sanoh’s safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Sanoh’s on-the-job system, including document control.
- Working knowledge of product function for all parts in assigned area(s).
- Working knowledge of Sanoh’s production paperwork (reports, traceability, check sheets, etc.) for assigned area(s).
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic understanding of problem‑solving tools and methods.
- Working knowledge of all customer specifications and expectations for all parts in assigned area(s).
- Ability to effectively train others.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills; able to learn basic functions of windows‑based software.
- Excellent attendance, quality and safety records.
- Assists supervisor in managing daily activities of 10 to 15 production associates; poor quality could shut down customer or affect contract.
- Effectively trains production associates; inadequate training leads to sub‑quality parts.
- Reports directly to the Supervisor.
- Directs the work of Production Associates but they do not report to this position; supervisor handles HR-related items.
- Spend 95% of the time on the Production Floor.
- Able to work in warm conditions.
- Able to work in dusty and noisy conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly.
- Must be able to move throughout the plant.
