Overview

Join GE Precision Healthcare LLC as an Inter/Co-op Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness for our cutting‑edge healthcare products. This co‑op position offers hands‑on experience in a dynamic, high‑tech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for medical devices and components.
  • Support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, and automation solutions on the production floor.
  • Conduct process capability studies, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in manufacturing yields and quality.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem‑solving activities related to manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Production, to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform time studies and lean manufacturing analyses to identify and eliminate waste in production processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new manufacturing technologies and materials.
  • Support the validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, or additive manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Creo) is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated, with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
