Engine Dyno Technician

As an Engine Dyno Technician, you’ll contribute to JM’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.
Responsibilities- Prepare engines and install apparatus and control instrumentation used in test cells for prototype catalytic systems.
- Run prescribed test sequences and parameters for diesel development, gasoline aging, or oven aging with minimal supervision.
- Monitor cells during tests, checking temperature, oil pressure, and other readings.
- Record test data from instruments and strip charts (heat, vacuum, temperature, fuel, air readings, etc.).
- Perform engine checks and maintenance to ensure no fuel or oil leaks or engine malfunctions.
- Comply with Johnson Matthey hazardous waste procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Complete daily shift reports and notes before the next shift arrives, assisting other technicians with accurate reporting.
- Conduct troubleshooting of instrumentation and engines, utilizing support resources to resolve problems.
- Participate in the installation of engines and parts to be tested, connecting valves, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls and instrumentation.
- Perform daily housekeeping and apply 5S practices where appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required.
- 3‑5 years of test‑cell experience (desired).
- Familiar with and able to demonstrate standard mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Class C MUSTR certification must be obtained within 24 months of being in the role.
- Basic math skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Competency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to work the 2nd shift (Mon – Fri 2:30PM to 11:00PM).
