Overview

Senior Machine Operator — Florence, KY

Compensation includes starting pay rate of $24.14/hour.

Responsibilities
  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to established safety rules and procedures. Take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Utilize lockout/tagout as required, following established policy; ensure guarding is in place at all times.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, per standards.
  • Ensure bags and print are produced according to quality requirements and specifications.
  • Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures.
  • Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc., as required.
  • Ensure machinery is running properly and safely, meeting production goals set by management.
  • Guide employees in the working area.
  • Adjust and ensure machines are repaired as instructed by the Adjuster Supervisor.
  • Set up one, two, three or four color prints.
  • Change rolls and thread machinery as needed.
  • Start machinery and implement print changes as needed for grocery print and merchandise complete print and size changes.
  • Fill out all reports legibly.
  • Catch bags on a relief basis, and/or as determined by management.
  • Assist in training and retraining of new employees, and Bag Catchers, Collator Tenders and Machine Tenders.
  • Minimize waste and ensure it meets standards set by management.
  • Meet/achieve safety, quality, production, waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is needed.
  • Three to five years of factory experience is preferred, or six months to one year experience as a Bag Catcher or Machine Tender.
  • Must pass Bennett Mechanical Test.
  • Basic reading, math and communication skills.
  • Ability to make adjustments and minor repairs, with a good working knowledge of machinery.
  • Ability to correctly read a ruler and use various hand tools/industrial equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Pulling and pushing for extended periods
  • Reaching above shoulder, use of fingers
  • Walking and standing for up to 12 hours each (excluding breaks)
  • Kneeling, bending, climbing for limited durations
  • Visual ability, depth perception, color distinction
  • Hearing ability
