Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Purpose of the Role
ITO is responsible for maintaining and driving forklifts, moving product, equipment, or materials in the warehouse and in and out of trucks.
Key Accountabilities- Operate industrial truck to perform transporting assignments in designated locations according to prescribed methods.
- Transport material to and from storage areas, warehouse, trucks, machines and loading docks.
- Stacks and unstacks pallets of cans.
- Rebuild pallets of cans, as needed.
- Fills out forms, checks identification, counts and/or weighs materials.
- Handles skids, pallets, chipboard, top frames, drums or other material.
- Inputs and extracts information in computer system to generate appropriate paperwork.
- Handles and dumps scrap, spoilage or trash.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance checks on industrial trucks.
- Maintains the highest level of housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Ability to understand and execute all loading procedures as they apply to each individual customer.
- Ability to recognize defective product during loading and transportation process
- Communicate issues with incoming product immediately and follow up
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Detail oriented
- Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
- Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
- Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, and loud noise
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and use of foot pedals
- Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and night shifts
