Part-Time Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient behavioral health team on a part-time basis. The Behavioral Health RN provides nursing care, assessment, medication management support, patient education, and care coordination for individuals receiving mental health and substance use treatment services. This role collaborates closely with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to promote positive patient outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patients’ physical and behavioral health status.
- Administer and monitor prescribed medications and treatments.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and wellness strategies.
- Monitor for medication side effects and adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Document patient interactions and clinical findings in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in treatment planning and care coordination activities.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral health crises and emergency situations.
- Maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.
- Adhering to confidentiality in of HIPAA and 42 CFR
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
- Previous Care Coordination, Case Management experience-preferred
- Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Self-Motivated
- Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, substance use treatment, or outpatient care.
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
