Job Summary

The Quality Technician 3 at Jabil, Inc. plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and process compliance through advanced inspection, testing, and data analysis. This position supports manufacturing operations by identifying quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform complex inspections, tests, and measurements on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using a variety of precision measuring equipment and advanced quality tools.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, recommending solutions for recurring issues.
  • Initiate and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for product and process non-conformances, working collaboratively with engineering and production teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions.
  • Conduct internal audits of manufacturing processes and quality systems to ensure adherence to established standards (e.g., ISO, internal specifications).
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced quality technicians and production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality tools.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including design reviews, FMEAs, and process validation to ensure quality requirements are met from the outset.
  • Operate and maintain specialized testing equipment and software, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and customers regarding quality issues and resolutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
Job Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., electronics, manufacturing, quality assurance) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing quality role, preferably within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators) and understanding their calibration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and troubleshoot quality issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality methodologies and tools (e.g., SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA).
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear reports and provide effective training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with quality management software (e.g., MES, ERP systems).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQT, CQI) are highly desirable.
