Position Summary: The Graduate Assistant will promote UGA’s study away programs by visiting classes, giving presentations, creating promotional materials, and staff events at study away fairs. Additionally, the assistant will manage communications with program applicants, organize application materials in the study away portal, and assist with related duties.

- Support program applicants with the application process and selected participants with the pre‑departure process. (50% of time)
- Assist with program promotion in person and on social media, making presentations to classrooms and representing programs at fairs and other recruiting opportunities. (20% of time)
- Assist with organizing post‑program activities. (10% of time)
- Assist with the study away scholarship process. (10% of time)
- Assist with ad hoc projects related to the programs or scholarships. (10% of time)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrable organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- International experience highly desired but not required.
- Driving preferred; if no driver’s license, use of public transportation on campus is acceptable.
- Physical demand to lift up to 45 lbs and occasional travel around campus.
- Background investigation required, including criminal and credit checks, and possible drug testing.
Physical Demands: Lift 45 lbs; may drive a state car or personal vehicle to assignments; use of public transportation on campus as needed; travel to classrooms and other sites; speaking in front of a group.
