180 days (9 ¼ months)
Pay: $15.07–$20.57 per hour (based on experience and shift)
Benefits: 4 paid holidays
Qualifications- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Certification as a school food service employee by the Division of School Food Service (or eligibility to receive it)
- Specialized skills in basic mathematics
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per day
- Neat and clean in person and in work habits
- Ability to read and follow written directions and recipes
- Ability to operate cafeteria equipment (cash register, slicer, grater, mixer, steamer, frying machine, dishwasher, steam cart, ovens, etc.)
- Training and experience in quantity cooking (preferred)
To serve attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.
Performance Responsibilities- Be familiar with written guidelines, policies, procedures, and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
- Check food shipments into school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified
- Check daily menus with manager and work out recipes for correct food amounts
- Prepare food according to planned menu and tested recipes
- Assure that food is of best quality in flavor and appearance before it is served
- Record all food withdrawn from storage
- Assure that unused foods are properly stored or disposed of
- Perform major cleaning at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by manager
- Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen
- Assist in collecting money for meals and beverages sold
- Move equipment, supplies and furniture as required for area of responsibility
- Report immediately any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen to the Manager Cafeteria
- Report to manager any faulty or inferior quality food which is received
- Assist manager in keeping production records
- Assist manager in ordering supplies
- Assume manager duties in manager's absence
- Attend in‑service training or workshops
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
