Automotive Dealership Sales Manager
Lead a profitable, established sales department and build the kind of culture that drives performance. An established powersports dealership is seeking an experienced Automotive Dealership Sales Manager to lead its sales operation in Lexington, Kentucky. This role oversees the full sales function, including team leadership, deal structuring and closing, CRM accountability, inventory strategy, F&I collaboration, performance management, and the overall customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a proven dealership sales leader who knows how to drive revenue without sacrificing culture. They are looking for someone who brings energy, accountability, and strong coaching skills to an established team while identifying opportunities to take an already successful operation to the next level.
Salary Range: $95,000–$155,000+ / Year, DOE, with flexibility in compensation structure and performance-based earning potential
Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop a team of six sales representatives while creating a positive, accountable, and high-energy sales culture
- Manage and close deals, structure transactions, and collaborate closely with F&I throughout the sales process
- Lead morning huddles, save-a-deal meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions to drive performance and engagement
- Monitor CRM activity, KPIs, and sales processes to ensure consistent follow-up, accountability, and execution
- Drive monthly unit volume from approximately 100 units toward a goal of 120–125 while protecting departmental profitability
- Oversee inventory merchandising, OEM programs, promotions, and inventory strategy
- Review monthly financial performance and identify opportunities to improve gross profit, sales volume, and overall department results
- 5+ years of dealership sales leadership experience preferred
- Proven sales management experience within powersports or automotive dealerships
- Powersports experience strongly preferred
- Strong deal-closing, negotiation, and deal-structuring skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage profitability, KPIs, and sales performance
- Strong CRM discipline and experience using dealership management, F&I, and inventory management systems
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold sales teams accountable while building a healthy, collaborative culture
- Strong knowledge of motorcycles, side-by-sides, off-road vehicles, or other powersports products
- Experience with OEM inventory ordering, programs, and promotions
- Familiarity with dealership F&I processes
- Experience leading teams through cultural or operational change
- High-energy, hands-on leadership style with strong communication and relationship-building skills
