A Day in the Life The Senior Biologist (Natural Resources / Wetland Biologist) position provides an opportunity to join our Environmental Response group supporting a variety of clients on Natural Resource , permitting, and environmental impact assessments throughout the US.Our Senior Biologist position can be located in the Midwest, ideally in Northeast Ohio, with the understanding that this position will have periodic and recurring required travel to client sites.

Travel may be on short notice and may be extended periods of time.

As a key member of the Environmental Response team, you will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.

The annual compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $105,000 in addition to an annual bonus, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

Provide project management for natural resource projects performed in the Midwest and throughout US.Perform natural resource surveys including wetland delineations and assessments, wildlife surveys, threatened and endangered species surveys, and data collection.

Support Nationwide 404 & 401 environmental permitting and USACE coordination.

Perform evaluations of potential impacts of development on wildlife, habitats, and ecosystems.

Assess potential impacts to threatened and endangered species and wetland systems and develop mitigation strategies to support client objectives.

Conduct water/soil sampling and data interpretation.

Assist in aquatic impact studies including the collection of fish and benthic macroinvertebrate populations. Ability to complete in-stream habitat assessments.

Conduct post-survey data management and development of technical reports.

Manage environmental consulting projects from proposal through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.

Support Emergency Responses in technical advisory and on-site field roles.

Track project financials, including budgets, forecasts, change orders, subcontract agreements, and invoicing.

Serve as the primary client manager, working directly with developers, utilities, state and local governments, municipalities, and legal counsel.

Prepare and review technical reports and applications or federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Support proposal development, scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical approaches.

Maintain client and project confidentiality at all times.

Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.

Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.

Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.

Supports all levels of the Emergency Response Division to include but not limited to the Environmental Response Programs to ensure all levels of Emergency Responses and projects are staffed, trained and response ready.

Maintain compliance with the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies and all applicable client, state, federal, and local environmental rules, policies, and regulations.
