Security Officer; St. Clairsville, OH Neighborhood Hospital

Job Summary / Purpose

The Security Officer contributes to the CHI mission and vision by assuring a safe and secure environment of care at hospital campuses and associated facilities and operations.

• Conducts initial investigations and appropriate follow-up for security incidents and writes a security report documenting all findings.
• Conducts proactive foot and vehicle patrols of the entire campus to include all floors and buildings.
• Responds to all radio calls for a variety of services to include but not limited to: escorts, property pick-up, disturbances, standbys and emergency calls.
• Ability to deescalate and maintain control in security situations.
• Stays current on all required training to include de-escalation training and required computer competencies.
• Receives mandatory health screenings and vaccines.
• Consistently monitors CCTV activities in the security control room when required.
• Is able to run access control system to include giving clearances and locking of doors.
• Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with team members, visitors, and patients. Follows department dress code.
• Offers assistance and provides direction to visitors, patients, and staff as needed.
• Communicates with incoming shift regarding unsolved situations or assignments. Disassembles information accurately and distributes to appropriate recipients.
• Uses tact, courtesy, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, physicians, team members and other employees.
