Overview

Mazak Corporation is looking for an Electrical & Mechanical Options Assembler to join Manufacturing Team. As an Electrical & Mechanical Options Assembler, you are responsible for the installation, integration, and verification of electrical and mechanical options on new machines prior to release. This role ensures all customer-specified options are installed correctly, function as intended, and meet quality and safety standards before shipment.

Reporting through Manufacturing leadership, you support Assembly, Engineering, and Quality Control by executing disciplined option installs, validating functionality, and escalating issues when deviations or conflicts are identified. This position is critical to delivering complete, reliable machines while protecting schedule, quality, and customer confidence.

Scope and Responsibilities
  • Install electrical and mechanical options on new machines per prints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints related to machine options
  • Route, terminate, and secure wiring and components in accordance with standards and safety requirements
  • Install mechanical components, brackets, assemblies, and hardware associated with machine options
  • Verify proper operation of installed options through functional checks and basic testing
  • Use multimeters, indicators, and precision measuring tools to confirm correct installation and functionality
  • Identify and correct installation issues related to fit, wiring, or component interaction
  • Perform limited troubleshooting when installed options do not function as intended
  • Escalate design conflicts, missing documentation, or recurring issues to Engineering and supervision
  • Ensure all installed options meet quality, safety, and workmanship standards
  • Document completion, issues, and corrections per established processes
  • Support Quality Control inspections related to option functionality and installation accuracy
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas during option installation activities
  • Follow all electrical safety practices, lockout procedures, and applicable codes
Education/Certification
  • Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Technology preferred
  • Demonstrated experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Working knowledge of wiring practices, electrical components, and mechanical assembly methods
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and precision measuring devices
  • Manufacturing or machine-build experience strongly preferred

  • Electrical & Mechanical Installation - Skilled in installing and integrating electrical and mechanical options on new machines
  • Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation - Able to read and apply technical documentation accurately
  • Wiring & Component Fitment - Proficient in routing, terminating, and securing wiring and hardware
  • Functional Verification - Capable of validating option performance through checks and testing
  • Troubleshooting Awareness - Able to diagnose basic installation-related issues and know when to escalate
  • Attention to Detail - Ensures options are installed correctly the first time to prevent rework and escapes
  • Safety & Compliance - Consistently follows electrical safety practices and shop standards
  • Communication - Clearly relays issues, questions, and risks to supervisors and Engineering
  • Quality Mindset - Focused on delivering complete, correct, and reliable machines
  • Team Execution - Works effectively with Assembly, Engineering, and QC to support machine completion
