Fully onsite role, 2nd or 3rd shift, performed at the designated Regal Rexnord office.
Purpose of PositionDiagnoses both mechanical and electrical issues, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools, and precision-measuring instruments. Installs functional and structural parts in devices or equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. If needed, performs audits of facility security and utility services, repairs and/or communicates issues. Maintains and completes work orders, and contacts outside suppliers for replacement parts and technical services.
Responsibilities- Install, level, perform ballbar and laser alignment on equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide variety of machine tools, attachments and auxiliaries, including horizontal and vertical lathes, mills, shapers, hobs, cranes, and hoists.
- Perform machining, installation, maintenance, repair, and renovation operations for machinery, hand tools, and auxiliary equipment.
- Handle HVAC, plant buildings, facilities, and utilities as required.
- Install, service, diagnose, and repair all electrical and electronic systems used on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Disassemble, repair, or replace parts; reassemble, align, and adjust machinery.
- Rig and install equipment, and layout and install required services for such equipment.
- Test equipment for proper mechanical and electrical functioning after repair, modification, or installation.
- Create, read, understand, and document changes to schematics and drawings, including blueprints, sheet metal drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, electrical schematics, PLC diagrams, and circuit diagrams.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work on new equipment and machine rebuild projects, including documentation of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC wiring and programming, and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose, repair, and upgrade all aspects of CNC equipment, including mechanical and electrical components.
- Coordinate with internal and external service, support, and technical resources for the diagnosis, repair, and modification of any equipment, including requesting quotes on parts and service as necessary.
- Participate in cross‑training programs between electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Fabricate parts for machines, such as cuts, welds (Mig and Tig), and cover and guarding components.
- Use shop mathematics, charts, tables, and handbook formulas in troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area, and promote and adhere to 6s initiatives.
- Promote teamwork and train new employees, and instruct lower‑classification technicians.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Perform any other related duties as directed.
- Experience with older shapers and hobs (Fellows, Liebherr, Pfauter).
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc, Mazak (Mazatrol), Siemens, Okuma OSP, and Haas controls;
Heidenhain a plus. - Knowledge of Renishaw probing and ballbar systems.
- Electrical license preferred or required, with proficiency in creating and interpreting schematics and drawings.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic problems on CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and understanding machine tool operation.
Must be able to read and understand schematics and technical drawings, including blueprints, sheet metal drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, electrical schematics, PLC programs, and circuit diagrams. Willingness to participate in cross‑training between electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift, move, manipulate up to 35 lbs. Must be comfortable with heights. Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Must pass PIE requirements to operate equipment.
