Uptown Rental Properties is looking for a dependable, hands‑on Maintenance Technician to help maintain our Florence‑area properties and provide a great experience for our residents.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience working with repairs, maintenance, make‑readies, construction, or the skilled trades and wants to continue developing their technical skills.
You don’t need to know how to fix absolutely everything. We’re looking for someone who can troubleshoot, take ownership of a problem, know when to ask for help, and take pride in doing quality work.
What You’ll Do- Complete maintenance work orders and general repairs across Uptown properties
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance issues
- Complete apartment turns, make‑ready work, and property upkeep
- Diagnose problems and work toward practical, lasting solutions
- Manage and update work orders using an iPhone‑based system
- Communicate professionally with residents about repairs, progress, and next steps
- Coordinate with property managers, vendors, and other technicians when additional support is needed
- Identify and elevate issues that require more advanced expertise
- Help maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and organized work areas
- Respond to unexpected maintenance needs and changing priorities throughout the day
- Participate in a scheduled after‑hours on‑call rotation approximately one week per month
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have 1+ year of experience preferred in apartment maintenance, make‑ready work, facilities maintenance, construction, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related hands‑on role
- Are comfortable using hand and power tools
- Have some experience troubleshooting maintenance or repair issues
- Enjoy figuring out what’s causing a problem instead of simply treating the symptom
- Can work independently while knowing when to ask for additional support
- Are dependable, organized, and able to adjust when priorities change
- Take pride in quality workmanship and completing work the right way
- Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, managers, and vendors
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Can perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing and walking throughout the workday, climbing ladders, and lifting 50+ lbs.
- $20–$25/hour, based on experience and technical skills
- Paid training and advancement opportunities
- Company‑provided uniforms, tools, work phone, and vehicle
- Disability & Life Insurance
- 401(k) with company match and profit sharing
- Paid Time Off, Sick Days & Paid Holidays
- Free Parking
- Employee appreciation events

If you like fixing things, solving problems, and seeing the results of your work, we’d like to meet you.
