Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location : OH
Duration:12+ months
Pay Rate:$42/hr- $48/hr on W2

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of packaging and inspection equipment
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on production systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform root-cause troubleshooting directly at the equipment level
  • Support equipment adjustments, changeovers, upgrades, and minor modifications to improve performance and reliability
  • Maintain and support vision inspection systems and serialization equipment, including cameras, sensors, printers, scanners, and related components
  • Work directly with PLC-controlled packaging equipment, responding to faults and alarms and assisting with basic system resets and recovery
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and cleaning activities are performed in compliance with GMP, FDA, and site SOPs
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and corrective actions clearly and accurately
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering to support continuous operations
  • Respond to equipment issues in real time during manufacturing to support line uptime and product quality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on Maintenance Technician experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment (pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting packaging equipment (cartoners, labelers, conveyors, printers, vision systems, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix equipment failures independently
  • Working knowledge of PLC-driven equipment, serialization systems, and vision inspection systems (e.g., Cognex Vision Systems, Systech Serialization)
  • Experience supporting routine equipment maintenance, line support, and breakdown response
  • Familiarity with GMP / FDA regulated environments
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong documentation skills and working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally on the manufacturing floor
