POSITION DETAILS:Wellington Exempted Village Schools (Lorain County) seeks a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our district transportation team. This position will cover a minimum of five (5) hours, split between am and pm runs for each day that school is in session. Additional hours can be earned through trips on evenings, weekends and mid-day.

Qualifications
- Neat in appearance, good human relations, reliable and honest
- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Pass physical examination and pass drug/alcohol screening test
- Pass and maintain valid CDL school bus driver endorsement license and any other State or Federal licensure required
- High school diploma
Duties
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to see and hear.Be able to safely operate a school bus while maintaining student discipline during driving.Obeys all traffic laws.Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.Complies with all State and Federal regulations concerning licensure and operation of a school bus.Keeps and maintains assigned bus in a clean condition.Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.Notifies the bus Transportation Supervisor in case of mechanical failure.Attends in-service meetings as required.Be courteous to drivers of other vehicles.Non
- Essential Job Functions:
Maintains discipline when students are on bus.Reports undisciplined students to the building Principal.Discharges students only at authorized stops.Reports time worked each Friday school is in session to Transportation Supervisor.Transports only authorized students.Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on bus.Reports all accidents and completes required reports.OSHA
Job Responsibilities Know and use safe work procedures.Recognize job hazards and take proper precautions to assure personal, as well as fellow employee and public safety.Inform his/her supervisor immediately of hazards, unsafe equipment and acts, and recommend solutions to correct deficiencies.Actively participate in safety program and training.Immediately report accidents, injuries and near misses to his/her supervisor.Report to work in a condition to be able to work safely.Attend all scheduled training sessions.Terms of Employment
Hourly rate and work year per the negotiated agreement (available on the district website).
Evaluator/Schedule
Transportation Supervisor and schedule will be commensurate with Negotiated Agreement.
