Position Overview
As a warehouse operator you will be responsible for two areas within the warehouse, Order Processing and Forklift Operation. Order Processing is responsible for the accurate selection of products to fill customer orders and deliver these products to the shipping dock in a manner that meets company standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The employee is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled and must be available to work scheduled hours to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities- Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of damage‑free products are palletized and prepared to ship. Transport pallets to wrapping/shipping locations as necessary. Ensure proper labeling is placed on all orders. Perform sorting, wrapping, packing, and other miscellaneous tasks as required. Utilize RF scanners and the WMS. On a daily basis, inspect all assigned equipment.
- Train newly hired employees, both permanent and temporary, on tasks, duties, and responsibilities within case picking operations.
- Conduct operations and model behavior that promotes a safe environment, including reviewing your surroundings, making eye contact with employees nearby, stopping when required, and sounding the horn correctly.
- Check product for accuracy in inventory and damage, communicate any discrepancies immediately. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Load and unload product efficiently and safely, making necessary system transactions and tracking all paperwork. Transport product to storage areas using proper equipment, efficiently stack and store product, and replenish product in a timely manner to maintain customer order flow. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
- Model safe driving behavior, including looking in the direction of travel, wearing a seatbelt, stopping when required, driving at an appropriate speed, and sounding the horn correctly.
- General computer knowledge (SAP experience a plus).
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
- Preferred 1–2 years of distribution/warehouse experience.
- Capability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- High school graduate or GED (preferred; not required).
- Warehouse/manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic scanning devices preferred.
