Medical Laboratory Technician Or Scientist
Full-time medical laboratory technician or scientist responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple modalities to support patient care at a respected healthcare organization in Oregon.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood bank, and urinalysis
- Analyze patient specimens while ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the testing process
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Review and verify laboratory test results before reporting
- Follow quality assurance and quality control procedures to maintain laboratory excellence
- Adhere to all laboratory safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory findings
- Assist with inventory management and laboratory supply organization
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives within the laboratory
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related laboratory science field
- Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technician or medical laboratory scientist program
- Oregon laboratory licensure, if applicable
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality control practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- ASCP, AMT, or equivalent national certification preferred or eligible, as required by employer
