As an Assistant Nurse Manager for ICU/Med Surg at Peace Health Peace Harbor Medical Center, you will help lead clinical excellence, support a dedicated nursing team, and help ensure safe, patient-centered care in a hospital that serves as a cornerstone of the Florence community.

Your Role and Impact

As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure high‑quality care delivery and a strong, supportive team environment. You will help lead day‑to‑day operations, support clinical excellence, and ensure that caregivers have the tools and guidance they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, safe, individualized care to patients and support for families
  • Assist with hiring, staffing, scheduling, orientation, and performance assessment
  • Contribute to clinical service planning, policy enhancements, and quality improvement
  • Support departmental communication and foster a culture of openness and collaboration
  • Assist with budget monitoring and resource management
  • Collaborate with and support the department Clinical Educator
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications Education
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; required within 6 months of hire
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years applicable nursing experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred
  • Financial or budget experience preferred
Credentials
  • Current Registered Nurse license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire
Skills
  • Strong problem‑solving, time management, and decision‑making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and computer applications
