Job ResponsibilitiesThis position performs various tasks, including administrative and clerical services, processing and picking up mail, handling court errands, copying and binding, frequent walking, lifting, standing, and handling paper deliveries.
Under general supervision, assigned to the Support Services Section, which provides administrative and clerical services to all Office staff.
- Processes copy requests for staff; copies briefs, court transcripts, and other documents; prioritizes work based on deadlines. Operates various equipment, such as a spiral binder, glue binder, etc. Places service calls for main equipment, including copiers, throughout the office.
- Processes office mail with the appropriate postage and sends it to the appropriate account. Picks up Office mail from the mailroom for processing by 3:00. Monitors postage equipment for adequate funds. Assists with maintaining current labels on mailboxes.
- Maintains supplies, i.e., stocks supplies in Support Services, and fills supply orders by the requested date. Arranges state vehicle reservations and in-house vehicle reservations— forwards building services requests from employees to General Services for handling.
- Assists the Director of Administration with varied administrative tasks. Occasionally, as requested, assist the main receptionist with their telephone duties.
- Opens the section and turns on all equipment. Completes court errands and non-routine errands. Picks up daily office mail at the US Post Office. Handles all certified mail logging.
- Assist with other administrative services-related tasks as requested. May assist Executive staff with special needs as requested.

High school diploma and relevant experience in support services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Must have and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
Additional Requirements- Position requires frequent driver duties.
- Position requires frequent stooping and bending.
- Position requires frequent lifting: up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to walk to locations on and off the state house campus.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently.
- Knowledge of supply and inventory procedures helpful.
- Must be able to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Must be able to handle and juggle multiple demands.
- Must be dependable and patient.
- General supervision by supervisor; employee expected to promptly make supervisor aware of any problems, issues, or suggestions relating to duties.
