Dental and Oral Care Administrative Coordinator
The Administrative Coordinator reports directly to MUSC Health clinic leadership. Under general supervision, the Administrative Coordinator provides a high level of customer service while verifying and preparing documentation for the Dental Medicine EHR. This role facilitates the timely completion of the front desk registration process, telephone inquiries, scheduling, patient check-out process, and works closely with dental providers to provide quality service and care to patients.
Provides courteous and professional customer service to internal and external customers. This position plays a critical role in keeping the clinic schedule full and addresses patient concerns and questions about patient finances and balances. Additionally, this position will be responsible for general administrative office needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding and following the MUSC Standards of Behavior and completing all assigned annual training.
- Managing patient registration, updating patient demographics, and obtaining signatures on required documents and consents.
- Scheduling patient appointments and confirming unconfirmed appointments by telephone.
- Collecting, posting, and reconciling payments for patients in the Dental Medicine EHR.
- Answering incoming phone calls for the assigned clinic area and managing incoming referrals.
- Assisting the dental provider and clinic staff in scheduling, patient care, and quality assurance.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor including responsibility for general administrative and office needs.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
