As a Revenue Officer, you will collect debts due the state and enforce tax laws in a professional manner.
PrimaryJob Duties Include
- Collecting/resolving debt and enforcing tax laws in routine cases through research and taxpayer contact/follow-up, with a focus on the security of taxpayer data
- Assisting in prioritizing accounts in collection status by managing assigned case load and determining urgency using established selection criteria
- Preparing/submitting required reports, with guidance
- Assisting in providing taxpayer assistance to include:
- Providing basic assistance and referring taxpayers to use our free online tax portal (MyDORWAY)
- Processing Business Tax Applications
- Filing basic returns (current and delinquent)
- Adjusting/issuing assessments and liens
- Assisting in performing inspections of Sales, Coin Operated Device (COD), and Admissions licenses
- Assisting with writing violations to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Developing, updating, and reviewing section procedures
- A bachelor's degree in a related field OR
- An associate's degree in a business-related field and relevant work experience OR
- Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for field work. (Mileage reimbursement provided)
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. College transcript required for consideration, where appropriate. Transcripts may be attached to the application or emailed to Employment.
