Teach Nursing (ADN, Mental Health, and Med Surg) courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration;
serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends or a combination.
The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENTThe development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENTThe effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.
STUDENT ADVISEMENTThe participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICESParticipation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTThe participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.
QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in Nursing.
- A current unencumbered South Carolina State Registered Nursing License.
- Two years of recent clinical experience in the primary area of responsibility.
- Simulation experience in the related field of expertise.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
