Full-Time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (2024/25 School Year)

• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' visual and functional abilities.
• Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills.
• Adapt classroom materials and environments for accessibility.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Offer support and guidance to students to promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Consult with parents and external stakeholders to foster effective partnerships.
• Stay current with best practices and legal requirements related to visual impairments.

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or related field.
• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
• Proficiency in Braille and use of assistive technology.
• Knowledge of special education laws and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
