Position: Training Specialist II (PGBA)

Summary

Responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials and facilitating training. Provides training, guidance and leadership for new training specialists. Develops performance assessments and testing materials. Manages trainees and communicates effectively with area management on trainee performance.

Location & Work Hours

Full‑time (40 hours/week) Monday‑Friday in a typical office environment. Scheduled 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with occasional overtime and inter‑building travel.

Location:

200 North Dozier Boulevard, Florence, SC 2950.

Government Clearance

Required to obtain a security clearance; applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, plan, and prioritize training projects from needs assessment to final product delivery, ensuring customer specifications and due dates are met.
  • Deliver technical and non‑technical training to employees, business partners, external customers, and other audiences; facilitate classroom and virtual sessions.
  • Contribute expertise as a member of functional groups and ensure project methodology is followed for performance assessments and testing materials.
  • Develop, revise, and update training materials using blended‑learning techniques and innovative technology/tools.
  • Collect and analyze data from audits, surveys, and team interactions to improve training effectiveness.
  • Track progress, provide feedback to trainees and their managers, and offer coaching, guidance, and train‑the‑trainer sessions as needed.
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials, and maintain training databases, reports, and assessments.
Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent job‑related work experience) or Associate’s Degree and 2 years of equivalent experience.

Required Experience
  • 3 years of job‑related experience, including 2 years of training experience.
  • 1 year of insurance‑related work experience.
Required Software and Tools
  • Microsoft Office and standard classroom/office equipment.
  • Proficient PC skills for developing training programs and materials.
  • Strong project‑management skills and ability to learn corporate systems.
  • Familiar with a variety of training technology (audio/visual, virtual, podcasts, webinars, tele‑conference, etc.).

  • Research, planning, data gathering, and analytical skills.
  • Design and development skills to create learning outputs.
  • Organizational skills for scheduling, prioritizing, and completing tasks.
  • Knowledge of multiple business lines and job functions, and of the organization’s technical environment.
  • Excellent project‑management capability and ability to work independently.
  • Experience developing training materials and delivering classroom presentations to large, diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of adult‑learning principles and appropriate learning methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or Public Speaking.
  • DDI Master Trainer, Langevin, or ASTD certification.
  • PowerPoint experience.
