Residential Teacher; Academic Year

Conducts a comprehensive educational program which includes assessing students' academic and habilitative needs, implementing curriculum and programs, developing long and short term objectives, preparing lesson plans and assessment, utilizing appropriate teaching methods. Provide professional guidance related to students' needs, growth and development. Serves as a back-up substitute for residential advisor providing dorm supervision of students as needed for absences. Prepares and maintains a variety of student records which show student assessment, progress, difficulties and needs.

Meets with the Direct Support Manager to discuss program goals, implementation plans and progress and modifications.

Must posses a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Education or closely related field. Also requires experience providing instruction and teaching of special needs students. This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.
