Company Description

Novra Power is a fast-moving start-up, gaining global visibility for its innovative approach to power generation for AI infrastructure. We're seeking talent with deep technical expertise who want to experience the excitement of growing with a new company and the ability to architect new products in a fast-paced environment. Novra Power develops behind-the-meter power generation systems to meet the demanding energy needs of AI-scale data centers.

We convert retiring commercial aviation engines into modular, land-based aeroderivative power systems purpose-built for large-scale AI infrastructure.

Role Description

The Chief System Engineer is a full-time role, responsible for leading the end-to-end systems engineering for Novra Power’s aeroderivative generation platforms. This role oversees system architecture, requirements definition, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems to deliver reliable power solutions for AI data centers. The ideal candidate is a veteran of aviation, aeroderivative, or heavy-duty power systems engineering.

Qualifications
  • Strong Systems Engineering and Systems Design skills, including requirements development, architecture definition, and integration of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Hands-on Troubleshooting and Technical Support capabilities, with experience diagnosing and resolving issues in high-availability or industrial power systems.
  • System Administration experience related to control systems, monitoring platforms, and configuration management for power or industrial infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with power generation or energy systems (e.g., gas turbines, aeroderivative engines) and familiarity with data center or AI infrastructure requirements.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering complex projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and plant regulations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work and collaborate with remote partners and suppliers.
