The Mechanical Design Engineer (Designer/Drafter) is responsible to lead the technical execution of complex CAD elevator components and system-level assemblies within Creo and Windchill environments while ensuring high quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The Designer/Drafter role serves as a technical authority for CAD methodologies, Pro/PROGRAM applications, TK Notes automation, and engineering documentation.
The Designer independently manages multiple priorities, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and efficiently collaborates with engineering and cross-functional teams to support both new product development and sustaining engineering activities.
On a typical day you will:
- Demonstrate accountability of design deliverables from request intake through release, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and on-time deliver
- Independently prioritize and manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting business commitments
- Lead the development, modification, and maintenance of complex CAD models, assemblies, drawings and engineering documentation
- Develop and maintain configurable models using Creo Pro/PROGRAM
- Utilize TK Note and automation tools to improve efficiency and consistency
- Lead impact assessment of new and modified designs, identify root causes and drive corrective actions
- Review and validate models, drawings, and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with design standards and engineering requirements
- Drive standardization, best practices and continuous improvement initiatives related to CAD modeling, documentation, configuration management and engineering processes
- Effectively collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams
- Serve as the technical expert for Creo, Windchill, Pro/PROGRAM, and TK Note by providing guidance, coaching and mentorship to the engineers
What you will need to be successful:
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field
- 7+ years of mechanical design and drafting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Creo and Windchill
- Proven experience with Pro/PROGRAM and TK Note
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and configuration control
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive schedules and commitments
