Registered Dietitians play a central role in delivering compassionate, excellent care every step of the way.

PRN / Per Diem / Part‑Time
- Provide quality nutritional care to patients, including development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
- Work collaboratively with the medical staff, patients, families, and food service department to ensure nutrition care plans are implemented and departmental standards are maintained.
- Perform nutritional assessments and re‑assessments, identify goals, recommend nutrition interventions, and monitor patient progress.
- Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
- Work closely with the Speech Therapy Department to assist with the progression of textured modified diets, ensuring patient safety and optimizing oral intake.
- Clarify admission orders to ensure nutrition support, diet, and oral supplement orders are consistent with the facility’s established nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
- Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in development of nutrition care plans.
- Review yearly updates and approve therapeutic diet manuals annually; educate clinical and food service staff on the Nutrition Care Manual; maintain current hard copy for downtime.
- Stay current with nutritional practices and theories; maintain professional registration requirements and pursue continuing education or specialized certification.
- Evaluate potential food/drug or herb/supplement interactions.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate progress and special needs.
- Participate in developing, planning, and standardizing menus.
- Perform meal rounds to ensure patients’ meal trays are consistent with prescribed diets and meet quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree majoring in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
- Current state licensure/certification if required by state.
- Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
- One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent experience.
