Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and RTR-M mammography certification for a robust breast imaging department assignment.
Responsibilities- Position is in a breast imaging department with 4 mammography rooms and a mobile van
- Performs 15-20 exams per technologist per day
- Procedures include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, stereotactic biopsies, and Bone Density (DXA) exams
- Uses digital imaging equipment with PACS for image management
- Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 16:30
- 13-week assignment
- Responsibilities include verifying patient identity with two identifiers, ensuring exam accuracy, and documenting order clarifications
- Must maintain all required documentation according to MQSA standards
- Ensures high quality images are forwarded to radiologists for interpretation
- Provides age-specific care and maintains patient confidentiality following hospital policies
- Orientation and training provided before independent work
- Minimum of 1 year mammography technologist experience required
- Current RTR-M certification is required
- ARRT or NMTCB certification required
- BLS certification from AHA required
- License required if applicable
- Must be able to perform all mammography exams independently after orientation
- Experience with PACS preferred
