Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of General IR experience for a 13-week travel contract at a tertiary hospital in South Carolina.
Responsibilities- Interventional Radiology unit within a tertiary hospital
- Average daily caseload of 4 cases per tech
- General IR cases required;
Neuro IR cases preferred - 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- On-call required on a rotating basis shared among three techs
- Every third weekend required
- No floating required
- Charting in Epic
- Free parking on-site
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; RTO requests submitted after will not be accepted
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date and average approximately 4 hours
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience
- General IR experience required;
Neuro IR experience preferred - Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ARRT (R), and SCQRSA
- Radiation badge required — must be provided by the traveler's agency, as the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- Proficiency in sterile technique, isolation precautions/PPE, and infection control
- Lead tech experience required
- SC license required if applicable — candidates with a license in hand are prioritized, but those with a pending license may be considered with proof of application or ability to complete the SC walk-through process
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
