ResponsibilitiesThe Inpatient Physical Therapist Assistant II reports to the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant II provides optimal patient care by implementing a physical therapy program tailored to individuals based on age‑specific needs, utilizing a developmental and patient/family‑directed approach. Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist I, II, or III, the PTA functions as a staff physical therapy assistant, supervises PTA students, and provides clinical education experiences.
Patient populations served: infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across a variety of diagnoses including neurologic, orthopedic, post‑surgical, medically complex, inpatient, and outpatient settings throughout the hospital system.

- Physical Therapy Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, less than one year of experience as a physical therapy assistant.
